Habit

A habit is a pattern of action one has learned; it can be a correct or incorrect habit. An incorrect habit is usually connected to one’s beliefs and attitude. Unthinking habits can be developed by a pattern of doing things that we know or may not know is incorrect.

When we recognize our habits and how we have gotten them, it is our will to change; we know God is in control of change, so we must present our incorrect habits to Him in replace of His

Most likely, it is very natural to resist change; the Apostle Paul says, “For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) dwelled no good thing: for to will is present with me, but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil, which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me”  Romans 7: 18 –20.   We should want God’s perfect will for our lives to be fulfilled.

According to the Word of God, we don’t have to be ruled by incorrect habits. If you are willing to make a change replace your incorrect practice, and God will show new habits that apply to His Word. Yes, no one is perfect, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:” Romans 3: 23, 24, we all say this time and time. “But If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9.

Do not try to battle incorrect habits; this will only be frustrating to you, develop a relationship with the master; he will show you the way to truth and understanding.

Prayer

Dear Father, I come to you in the Name of Jesus for forgiveness and cleansing. I am sorry I did not realize the devil was trapping me. Help to recognize his traps. If I have caused anyone to go astray in the faith, give me the opportunity to redeem the false and give a faithful witness for you that You are my sufficiency in all things. I offer You my body as a living sacrifice. Help me to keep it Holy and acceptable unto You and to the glory and honor of Jesus Christ, my Lord, in Jesus’ Holy Name AMEN.
