Your Greatness

Dear God, no one can compare to your greatness. There is no one, not a single being, in this universe that can try to stand up to you. In everything I have read, seen, and heard of your greatness, Lord, I know there is so much more to your excellence we are yet to learn. I pray that all the earth will come to the knowledge of your greatness, O God and that we will all come to worship you and give you the praise that is genuinely due to you. In  Jesus’ name, I pray, Amen.

Press toward the Mark

The result of reflecting can be powerful or disastrous. When we analyze the stewardship of our lives and what we have done with our talents, aspirations, and time, we face reality. Typically, we will examine ourselves when we feel we are getting older. We see objectively what we have or have not accomplished and make an intelligent assessment of what we can expect to do with the remainder of our lives, especially if we keep on in the same direction.

The Greatest Gift

The greatest gift we can still give others outside of eternity is our time. Time is precious because it is the only commodity we can never recoup.” We will only take two things with us when this life is over God’s Word and people. If those two things are the only things that will last forever, then we can trust that our return on those investments will be worth it because God is the one making them grow.

Teach Me, Lord

The way of your decrees that I may follow it to the end. Give me understanding so I may keep your law and obey it with all my heart. Direct me in the path of your commands, for there I find delight. Turn my heart toward your statutes and not toward selfish gain. Turn my eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your Word. Fulfill your promise to your servant so that you may be feared. Take away the disgrace I dread, for your laws are good. How I long for your precepts; In your righteousness, preserve my life.

To Grow in God

We must pass His tests of growth, which come through the crisis. The crisis does not necessarily make us strong but shows our strength. If we are strong enough to pass, we realize our power and become even more vital in faith, courage, conviction, and various spiritual attributes.

We can either pass or fail each test. If we fail, we carry that failure with us. The process of purification purifies us from disappointment.

God presents us with the same test to purify us, and we end up experiencing the same or similar crisis again. But before God brings us back to test us a second time, He will cause us to grow. He wants to get us back, ready this time to pass the test, to replace our failure with success, and to move on.

Confession

The confession of Jesus is a positive action of faith in God and in Jesus Christ. It is the basis of our Christian walk. Confessing Christ is not the same as soul-winning or testifying but is used in both. Soulwinning is the deliberate presentation of a revealed pattern of truth. It presents Scriptures to lead people to the knowledge of Jesus so they can receive Him as their Savior. Testifying is giving a witness to what Christ has done in your life. A testimony does not lead a person to receive Christ as Savior, although it can be a tool to get him interested. Only the Word will save him. But both are ways in which we confess Christ to others.
