Confession

The confession of Jesus is a positive action of faith in God and in Jesus Christ. It is the basis of our Christian walk. Confessing Christ is not the same as soul-winning or testifying but is used in both. Soulwinning is the deliberate presentation of a revealed pattern of truth. It presents Scriptures to lead people to the knowledge of Jesus so they can receive Him as their Savior. Testifying is giving a witness to what Christ has done in your life. A testimony does not lead a person to receive Christ as Savior, although it can be a tool to get him interested. Only the Word will save him. But both are ways in which we confess Christ to others.

Refuse Conformity to the World

We must learn to refuse conformity to the world and its ways. This is not easy. We have been raised in worldly philosophies and surrounded by people who live this way.

The answer is not isolation. We cannot run away to a hiding place and never be seen again. No, that’s not the answer. Doing this will not make you successful and abundant. Besides, even if you separated yourself from everyone, you would still be stuck with your unrenewed mind.

Use Jesus’ Authority

When Jesus Christ walked the earth, He demonstrated the creative power of speaking God’s words. The disciples were at sea with Him once when a fierce storm arose. Panic struck. In their terror, the disciples were thrust into a world charged with fear. They were living in the moment in anxiety, tension, stress, and impending tragedy. When they woke Jesus, Who was sleeping peacefully, to tell Him of the peril, He stepped onto the boat’s bow and spoke a creative word to the storm: “Peace, be still.” When Jesus said it, the Holy Spirit accomplished it, and there was peace.

Your Source is God

Perhaps there has been nothing unjust about your leaving. It is only a company or ministry cutback in personnel or finances, but it has left you without a job, income, or money. Because a man’s feeling of security is often tied to his job or profession, a man without cash feels as if he has been emasculated, totally deflated; if your leaving has left you in a financial crisis, don’t lash out at others because of your dilemma. Remember, your source is God-not, your boss, job, or checkbook.
