When sleeplessness comes over you by whatever means, get out of bed! Don’t just lie there tossing and turning, wallowing in misery. Get up, put on a record or tape that is filled with faith and peaceful music, and let the Word and Spirit of God minister to your spirit, bring peace of mind, and create faith in your heart.
Your children also don’t need to know the anxiety, the tension, the anger. Don’t communicate to your children the poverty attitude or your brokenness. While for you it is a passing crisis, it can become a lifetime habit for them to overcome. Your children do not need to be responsible for the knowledge of what you are going through.
Outside of such confidential meetings, keep your conversation positive. No one needs to know the negatives of your situation. Though you may be going through emotional turmoil or suffering mental anguish, no one else needs to know the details. We deceive ourselves, and the enemy of our souls takes advantage when we think that we must share everything with everyone. That’s just not true.
Come generous with your time, your prayers, the Gospel, your work, your grace, your mercy, your compassion, your money, and your talents. As God cleanses your motives and your mind is renewed, the evidence is in your generosity. Spend the time in prayer, then do the work that’s there.
God’s Word is your blueprint for success. Don’t be tossed to and fro by every whim, personality, feeling, or fleeting thought that comes along. Steady yourself in the Word of God.
Those who cannot forget yesterday will never see tomorrow. Therefore, it is important that we forget the past, not look back and say, ” You know, maybe I keep one fool in the world; maybe I can still keep this going and still serve God. ” Nothing becomes dynamic in life until it becomes specific.
You will have plenty to eat, and your hunger will be satiated; you will praise the name of the LORD your God, who has acted wondrously on your behalf. My people will never again be put to shame.
God does not bless or give to us according to what we deserve or what we may think is good. He offers us the spiritual connection that He set into existence.
