Many parents see only the wrong in their children. In prayer, we can ask God to forgive our children. Then we move beyond the sins and into the realm of the supernatural when we begin to confess Christ’s forgiveness for them, Christ’s care for them, the Father’s provision for their salvation, and His plans for their lives. Our egos as parents may be hurt to see our children acting up in school or dropping out of church activities, but we have to subject our egos to the Holy Spirit to pray effectively for them.
The flow of God’s Spirit is a positive flow, full of the goodness of God, His love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness. When we pray according to His Spirit or confess His goodness during a conversation, we release His power into our lives, the lives of others, and the very circumstances in which we find ourselves.
